Lilith invocation
Materials Needed:
A black or red candle
A small bowl of water (representing emotions and the unconscious)
A mirror (preferably hand-held or small enough to place on your altar)
Anything from the provided correspondence list for Lilith.
Journal and pen
Preparation:
Cleanse the space by using your preferred method.
Arrange your materials on an altar or a small table. Place the mirror so it can reflect the light of the candles and the bowl of water.
Take a few moments to center yourself with deep breathing.
Ceremony Steps:
Opening:
Light the black candle and say: "I light this candle to honor the mysteries within and the shadows I am ready to explore."
Position the candle so their light is reflected in the mirror, along with the bowl of water in front of it.
Invocation to Lilith:
Stand before your altar, close your eyes, and take a deep breath.
Recite the following invocation:
Lilith Invocation
I call upon Lilith
Goddess of the untamed and wild,
Mother of demons, yet a liberator,
I call upon your ancient power,
Your wisdom that defies time.
Lilith, Lady of the Dark Moon,
Guide me through the shadows,
Illuminate the truths hidden within,
Empower me with your fierce independence.
I honor your name, Lilith,
Protector of the oppressed,
Teach me to embrace my true self,
Unbound, unbroken, unapologetically free.
By the power of your name,
I seek your guidance,
I welcome your strength,
As above, so below,
As within, so without.
Hail, Lilith!
Setting Intentions: Reflect on your intentions for this journey. What are you hoping to get out of it? Speak your intentions aloud, clearly and confidently.
Mirror
Hold the bowl of water and gaze into the mirror, allowing the candlelight to reflect through the water.
Dip your fingers into the water and sprinkle a few drops onto the mirror, symbolizing the merging of the conscious and unconscious.
Say: "With this water, I cleanse and prepare myself for the journey within. I am ready to face my shadows with courage and compassion."
Journaling:
Spend a few minutes writing down your intentions, thoughts, and any messages or feelings that came up during the invocation.
This journal will be your companion throughout the course, a place to document your insights and progress.
Mirror Reflection:
Spend a moment looking into the mirror, seeing your reflection illuminated by the candlelight. Acknowledge the parts of yourself you may not often see.
Say: "As I look into this mirror, I see my true self, both light and shadow. I honor all parts of my being."
Closing:
Thank Lilith for her presence and guidance.
Extinguish the white candle first, then the black candle, saying: "Though I extinguish these flames, the light of understanding and the power of the shadow remain within me."
Grounding:
Take a few deep breaths, and feel the connection to the Earth, grounding yourself after this spiritual work.
Feel free to adjust this ceremony to your personal practice and preferences.
