Self Love Jar Spell

Purpose:
To create a tangible reminder of self-love, blending physical and energetic elements, while incorporating somatic practices to anchor self-compassion, confidence, and inner healing into your body.

Materials:

  • A small jar with a lid

  • Rose petals (for love)

  • Pink or red candle (for self-love and passion)

  • Honey (for sweetness toward oneself)

  • Rose quartz (for love and compassion)

  • Lavender (for calm and self-care)

  • Cinnamon stick (for confidence and inner strength)

  • A piece of paper and pen

  • A pink ribbon or string

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Your Space: Begin by preparing your altar or sacred space. Cleanse the area according to your personal practice. If you wish, carve or write a sigil on the candle to represent your intention of self-love before lighting it.

  2. Reflect and Ground: Sit comfortably with the candle burning in front of you. Hold the rose quartz in your hand, closing your eyes, and take three deep, slow breaths. As you inhale, visualize the energy of love and compassion filling your body. As you exhale, release any negative self-talk or insecurities. Allow your body to soften and open to the intention of self-love.

    Somatic Awareness:
Feel where love already resides in your body—whether it’s in your chest, your stomach, or even your hands. Place your hands over that area, letting the warmth from your hands reinforce the feeling of love within you. If this is hard, you may need to focus on somatic awareness around the emotions and beliefs within your body and release through exhale and inhale the feelings of love and safety.

  3. Fill the Jar with Intention:

    • Rose petals: Place the rose petals in the jar, saying aloud, “With these petals, I honor the love I hold within myself.” As you say this, feel the love and warmth in your chest expand. Take a few moments to breathe it in.

    • Pink Himalayan salt: Add a pinch of salt for protection and cleansing, saying, “With this salt, I protect my heart and cleanse any doubts or insecurities.” Focus on the areas of your body where you feel insecure, and imagine the salt’s energy protecting those spaces. With each exhale, releasing it all.

    • Lavender: Add lavender for peace and healing, saying, “With this lavender, I bring peace and healing to my mind, body, and spirit.” As you add the lavender, take a deep breath, imagining calm and peace filling your body. Take a few moments to breathe in and feel this.

    • Honey: Drizzle a small amount of honey into the jar, saying, “With this sweetness, I treat myself with kindness, patience, and love.” Take a few moments to visualize and imagine the honey coating your heart, softening and nourishing your inner world with self-compassion.

    • Rose quartz: Place the rose quartz in the jar, saying, “With this stone, I open my heart to unconditional love and self-compassion.” Hold the stone in your hand for a moment, feeling its energy connect with your heart. Take a few deep breaths, focusing the energy and breathing it in.

    • Cinnamon: Add the cinnamon for confidence and inner strength, saying, “With this cinnamon, I ignite my confidence and embrace my inner power.” Take a few deep breathes and imagining a sense of warmth and strength filling your solar plexus with each inhale.

  4. Create and Add Your Sigil: On a small piece of paper, draw a sigil representing your intention for self-love. Roll up the paper, and add it to the jar, saying, “With this sigil, I seal my intention for lasting self-love and empowerment.” As you place the sigil in the jar, imagine the energy of the sigil merging with the ingredients.

  5. Seal the Jar: Close the jar with the lid and, if you’re using a candle, carefully drip some wax over the top to seal it. As you do, say, “I seal this jar with love, for myself, by myself.” Tie the pink ribbon or string around the lid, further sealing the jar with your intention.

  6. Empower the Jar with Somatic Practices: Hold the jar in your hands and close your eyes. Visualize it glowing with pink or golden light, filling with your intention of self-love, confidence, and compassion. Take three deep breaths, feeling this energy enter your body as you hold the jar. Focus on any areas of tension, and with each exhale, allow the tension to release and be replaced with love.

    Somatic Awareness:
As you hold the jar, notice how your body feels—perhaps a warmth in your heart, a lightness in your shoulders, or relaxation in your belly. Let this physical sensation be your body’s reminder of the love and care you hold for yourself.

  7. Place the Jar Somewhere Special: Keep the jar on your altar, bedside table, or carry it with you. Each time you see or hold the jar, take a deep breath, and reconnect with the intention of self-love and the energy you’ve infused into it.
